Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded January 5, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Kappa Alpha Psi is the first historically black Greek-letter organization founded in the State of Indiana. Kappa Alpha Psi is now comprised of functioning undergraduate and alumni chapters on college campuses and cities across the United States as well as chapters world-wide including Asia, Africa, and Europe. From inception, the goal of the founding fathers was to build an organization around the idea of achievement. Over the years, the concept of achievement has broadened. Kappa Alpha Psi, a name that is rooted in achievement, now assumes a position of leadership in the acceleration of preparing young men for present and future service. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is an advocate of youth leadership training, scholastic empowerment, community development, and social awareness. It is to that end, we request your support. Guide Right is a program for the educational and occupational guidance of youth, primarily inspirational and informational in character. The Derby Gala is the financial arm by which most of the scholarships are derived. Over $500,000 in scholarships has been awarded to deserving minority students over 49 years.
The members of the Evansville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. kindly request your support for our Derby Gala to be held on June 29, 2019. This will be an evening of fun, fellowship and entertainment as we come together for one mission: “A Celebration for Education.”
